Only StaVin premium toasted oak products (or expensive barrels) offer the complete package for your wines. Chips provide fast extraction but leave wine with a monochromatic, disjointed flavor profile. For a refined approach, use StaVin cubes during red and white fermentations and aging.
StaVin's slow fire toasting creates the same traditional flavors found in the production of fire toasted barrels.
Within a carboy or small barrel, pour in the prescribed does of loose Cubes. For neutral 60 gal (227 l) barrels, add the loose Cubes, use the StaVin Infusion Tube, or use the StaVin Oak Barrel Replica.
You will achieve the best results by fermenting with the Cubes and leaving them in the wine for the duration (until filtering and bottling).
Cubes are sealed in 8 oz (227 g) poly-metal bags to retain aromatic compounds and protect the Cubes from contamination. Simply open the bag and add the pristine Cubes directly to the wine.
